Volunteers from Winter Warm Wear!
In 2022:
- We equipped 1,082 students with backpacks full of school supplies
- 1,055 youth stayed warm with winter coats, hats, and gloves
- 1,212 children and teens received new gifts during the winter holiday break
- 70 individuals received an emergency financial grant (we gave out a total of $33,348.68!)
- We provided 58 childcare and academic scholarships to children (a total of $30,600.69!)
These numbers have increased compared to previous years, and we expect them to continue to grow in 2023. In response, we too, need to grow our work.
We are ready to meet this need and any challenges that we may face this year. Many facets of our work are staying the same, but we realize that there are important changes to make. We hope that you will move with us through these changes that will benefit our community and neighbors.
ResourceWest has exciting goals for 2023. Many of them revolve around more awareness of ResourceWest and the important work we do. This includes:
- Establishing new partnerships with other organizations in our community
- Connecting more individuals and families to the support we provide
- Deepening relationships with our current supporters, as well as building them with new supporters
From the Staff:
Ally, Office Coordinator
Some of you may know me, especially if you’ve been to our office in the last year. I was hired a little over a year ago as the Office Coordinator. A little bit about me: I graduated from Hamline University in 2021, I have an adorable 2-year-old chocolate lab named Coco, and my partner and I just bought a house!
I truly enjoy working at ResourceWest. The work that we do to support our community is incredible. In my role, I assist with many things, largely with our donation management, volunteer management, communications, and our grant-writing (there’s some exciting news below!)
I’m really excited about some of the new work that we’re digging into this year. There’s a new event (below, again!), some new grants we hope to receive, and the work we have planned to support our community through our programs will all bolster ResourceWest’s ability to serve our community.
I'm so glad to be a part of this work and am looking forward to everything that may come this year!

Join Us!
ResourceWest's newest fundraiser, Gathering to Grow. Join us on March 14th, from 4-7pm at the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
Gathering to Grow is a free community-focused event centered on showcasing, celebrating, and sharing the diversity of our community. It will include performances, art, and experiences for all to enjoy.
Funding Updates
Part of ResourceWest's goals in 2023 is to grow and diversify our funding and expand our knowledge of effective ways to host events, connect with you and other supporters, and generally assure we are doing the best work we can.
In this goal, we had applied to Compass, an organization which provides grants to nonprofit organizations for consulting projects. These projects bring in experts in specific fields who volunteer their time to support a nonprofit in a chosen project.
We are very excited share that we have been chosen to partner with Compass for the first half of 2023! Our partnership will help ResourceWest create an effective fundraising strategy, which will ultimately allow us to better serve our community.
You can take a look at Compass' website here! We are grateful and energized to work with Compass to better our work.
